There's no place like home...

 Thursday, April 29, 2010

This quote from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is just so true. I'm a person who really enjoys travelling and visiting new places, but sometimes, there's no place like home. After a long week of work, after too many articles written, too many press conferences, too many conversations and too much stuff done, the weekend arrives, and there's just no place like sweet, sweet, sweet home.

Your own star

"Follow those things that you truly believe in.

Those things that have this

incredible power to drive
YOUR
self beyond where you always thought.
It's time to walk ahead and reach this that you always had in your head.
IT IS TIME TO GO, IT'S TIME TO FIND YOUR
OWN STAR".

This is the manifesto of Kling, one of my favourites Spanish brands. The clothes are not expensive at all, which makes them even more attractive. Don't know why, but I enjoy these words, as much as I enjoy these clothes and these pictures...

A beautiful dress

 Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Last week I got this beautiful package from the lovely Q's Daydream whose blog I've followed for quite a while. A couple of weeks ago I decided to buy a really nice dress from her ebay --I'm waiting another one from her etsy!--, and here it is!

It's a Free People dress, from UO I guess --we don't have UO at Spain but I LOVE the store and I recommend it to all the Spanish out there: visit the UK site. Every time I go to London I buy many many many clothes from the flagship store, altough the most wonderful store I visited was the one in Stockholm.--

Going back to the dress, it's the perfect dress for spring, you can wear with or without tights, I just love it.

I got the chance to take some pics wearing it. It was a beautiful sunny day...

Concordia

I've never been to Concord, Massachusetts, but a place that Louisa May Alcott's father insisted on calling Concordia is well worth a visit! (Note to myself: save money for a USA vacation!) Anyone out there ever been to Concord?

American Bloomsbury is my last acquisition and I highly recommend it... the writer presents in a very affectionate and charming way the lives, the loves and the work of heavyweight writers Louisa May Alcott --one of my favourites--, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Margaret Fuller, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henry David Thoreau in Concord.

"The 1850s were heady times in Concord: in a town where a woman's petticoat drying on an outdoor line was enough to elicit scandal, some of the greatest minds of American history were gathering in three of its wooden houses to establish a major American literary movement. The Trascendentalists, as these thinkers came to be called, challenged the norms of American society with essays, novels, and treaties whose beautifully rendered prose and groundbreaking assertions still resonate with readers today."

If you enjoy literature and the 1850s... this book is a really great choice.

So I'm starting this blog experience... I've been reading vintage-fashion blogs for the last year, I enjoy them so much, and I finally decided to get involved and do my own.
I don't pretend that much, I'm just a girl who wants to share some thoughts, some outfits, some pictures, some books --which are really my passion--, a small part of my world... thats's all... hope you can join me along the way.
