We spent the weekend on the countryside... at the boy's country house: good weather, lavender and thyme fields, silence... I really needed it! I thought it was a great chance to wear my new reconstructed vintage picnic dress from the lovely Red Rachel Lips's etsy store, it's a perfect dress, so comfy and cute :) And I love reconstructed pieces, I think is such an art :) So how did you spend your weekend? Someone Give Me The Spring Back

I've been living in Madrid for 10 years and I still don't get used to the weather... we just have two seasons, winter and summer... Last week was so cold that I still needed a coat, and suddenly it's so warm I can't even wear a cardigan! :) Oh well, we decided to go for a walk to a beautiful garden --wearing sandals for the first time in 2010-- and then we had ice cream! It's been a perfect Sunday :)

Red Lights

Since I've had a pretty busy week, we decided to relax for awhile and have a nice brunch on a new bar we just discovered, it is called Bristol Bar, and it was a really great decision, because the decoration is so amazing and the lights too! It is also a nice coincidence because we are going on holiday next July to Bristol and Cornwall... so excited! I can't wait! Any suggestions? Anyone knows the area?

I had a blast last nite with my greatest friends Cris and Pili, we went to have some dinner and then we went dancing, so today I was pretty much laid-back at home, reading and guess what, drinking tea! lol. During the evening I felt like going for a walk since I wanted to wear for the first time the lovely shoes I just received from the sweet Dalena Vintage --as many of you probably know she has a great etsy shop, go checkt it out!--. Now I better start getting ready for the week... so much work is waiting for me! :)

Forever is composed of nows

"Forever is composed of nows"... I love this quote by Emily Dickinson as much as I love her poetry... I'm also amazed by her life, and by the way she managed to express feelings and to appreciate the beauty of art. Today it's the 124 anniversary of the poet's death and I just wanted to remember her in this small parcel of blog land :) I wish I could visit her house in Massachusetts by the way, it'd be a nice experience. Have you ever been there?

A Grey Shiny Day

I had the day off today. It was grey and kind of rainy, but we didn't care and went for a walk around the neighborhood. We were next to the contemporary Reina Sofia museum because the building and the square where it is is so beautiful. Then we went to have a tea --I love tea!-- to the nicest coffee book shop! I usually go there twice a week and always get a tea and a good book :) Do you have any favourite place near home where you go often?

Rose Garden

I had the best Saturday yesterday. We had a yummy breakfast and then we went for a walk to the "Rosaleda", a rose garden in Madrid, full of roses, other kind of flowers, and fountains. It's still a bit cold and it seems that the spring hasn't arrived yet, but we were lucky and the sun shined the whole morning. So today I'm staying at home reading a new book and getting ready for the week, which seems it's going to be a pretty hard one... :)

I love C.S. Lewis and I agree with him, though I usually read old books only and put a new one in between once in a while :)

This Saturday we went to the Old Book Fair here in Madrid that takes place once a year. I had a lovely time. I could spend a whole life searching and reading old books. I always imagine the person who has read that book before me... It's the story inside the story :)
